Laurie is a consultant in Deloitte’s human capital consulting practice having joined as an analyst in 2016. They work with public sector clients on organisational transformation and talent projects. Prior to this Laurie worked as a project manager at a medical technology start-up after graduating from Warwick University with an MEng in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering. Laurie is a steering committee member of GLOBE, Deloitte’s LGBT+ network, and leads on transgender and non-binary inclusion. Through this, they have been involved in shifting Deloitte’s culture towards becoming a more trans-inclusive employer, from introducing gender neutral facilities, to shaping Deloitte’s gender expression and transition policy and the enablers that make the policy useful and practical, including adapting processes and training trans champions. Laurie believes raising awareness and creating conversation around difficult topics is the key to progress and hopes to bring this to Wave and ensure the network is heavily focused on diversity of all kinds from the outset. Outside of work, Laurie is keen on sport, the outdoors and travel and recently tied this all together by cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
