Josh joined Newton Investment Management, part of BNY Mellon Investment Management, in 2016 as an Application Support Analyst supporting the commercial and middle office business functions. His responsibilities include CRM, website pricing and client portal systems. Beyond his formal role, Josh is also the lead for the London chapter of PRISM, BNY Mellon’s LGBTQA Employee Resource Group. Since taking on this role in 2017, he has built a committee of volunteers spanning across lines of businesses and subsidiaries and engaged senior leaders as visible allies. Within BNY Mellon and Newton, he has worked on coordinating internal and external events to raise awareness of LGBT+ topics among employees and to share ideas with clients and peers within the industry.
Josh graduated from Loughborough University in 2015 with a BSc in Information Technology Management for Business. As someone relatively new to finance and quickly noticing a lack of visible role models within the industry, he works with the Newton Diversity and Inclusion Council to ensure that their initiatives are also inclusive of LGBT+ issues that can have an impact on Newton’s global workforce. Josh is also a strong believer in the power of allies, encouraging internal allies to be visible and vocal champions of LGBT+ inclusion and strengthening Newton’s positioning as an employer of choice.
